We had a really wonderful day at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow courtesy of the Reading Agency and Bertrams Books. The day was designed to link Scottish publishers with librarians from all over the country. The Reading Agency is a charitable organisation which works to promote reading for all ages. Although our books are well-known in Dumfries and Galloway they are less well-known further afield so it was great for us to be able to showcase our catalogue to library staff from south Lanarkshire to the Highlands! People loved our books which was really lovely and we had fantastic feedback. Now we just need to tackle the maze of paperwork involved in getting our titles listed on the library supply companies! The more we learn the more we’re aware of all the things we don’t know about publishing! But we have fun finding out and yesterday was one such day. We also really enjoyed meeting other small publishers like Ailsapress, Scotland Street and others like Strident who started small but have recently taken over two smaller companies and grown hugely in size.
Shalla put together a lovely presentation about our company which looked great on the big screen!
