We are very excited that our wonderful book Nip Nebs by Susi Briggs and Ruthie Redden has been shortlisted for the prestigious first Scots Language Awards.
The book has been included in the Books Fer Bairns category alongside three other excellent titles. We’re very proud of the fact that Nip Nebs is the only book in the section that is a new original book for children in Scots – all the others in the category are translations of books originally written in in English.
The awards will be presented at an evening being held at the end of September at the Mitchell Library Theatre in Glasgow. We, of course, hope Susi and Ruthie will win but there are some great books in the shortlist including the Tale o the Wee Mowdie that wantit tae ken wha keeched on his heid, translated by Matthew Mackie and published by Perth based Tippermuir Books.
Who wins the award is down to a public vote so follow this link to vote for Susi (or the wee mowdie because we love that book too). Vote here
