We were excited to see a fabulous double page feature on Alasdair Hutton and the reasons why he wrote the story Mustard and Pepper in The Southern Reporter newspaper.
Alasdair has had a very interesting career including being a journalist and broadcaster in Australia as well as in his native Scotland. He has been a politician with Scottish Borders Council and, of course, continues to be the ‘Voice’ of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo a role he has had for almost 30 years – writing and narrating the show.
He has previously written books for older children, The Tattoo Fox and more adventures of the Tattoo Fox, but Mustard & Pepper is his first picture book for young children.
We have two great events coming up where Alasdair and illustrator William Gorman will be talking about the book, signing copies and demonstrating how to do your own Dandie Doodle! The first will be at Abbotsford House on Friday 20th September 2019 and they will also be appearing at the Wigtown Book Festival on Saturday 5th October. Look out for further details.
