We had a fabulous time at Wigtown Book Festival. Although we have been invited several times as authors to present our books, this was our first year as booksellers too and it was great fun, though pretty full on too! Lots of lovely authors popped in to say hello so we were able to get quite a few books signed. It all added to the festive feel of the whole ten days. It was hectic too but we loved every minute and look forward to next year!
Here are a few of the great authors who called by. Above is the very individual Philip Ardagh who took over the shop temporarily to give reading advice to Prue, the wife of the festival creative director Adrian Turpin. It was also great to see the always energetic, enthusiastic, Stuart Reid, the lovely Johnny Meres who is now on his ninth World of Norm book and James Robertson who is doing such a great job promoting Scots and some of our Scottish heroes. The Bookshop Band did a short set in the shop on the final Sunday which helped us to end the whole thing with a smile.
