Nip Nebs Has Arrived!

New book from Curly Tale Books

We’re delighted to announce that our fantastic new book has now arrived back from the printers and the first pre-ordered copies are now in the post. We’re just thrilled with this beautiful book by Susi Briggs and Ruthie Redden. It features a lovely foil embellishment on the cover which is a first for Curly Tale Books. The book is available for a limited period (until Christmas Day 2017) through our shop on this website for just £8 but will normally retail at £9.99. Each page has been lovingly created by artist Ruthie Redden to accompany the lyrical story of Jack Frost in Scots. There is a translation into English but the language can be enjoyed by anyone.

We’re so pleased that the book has been endorsed by Ian McIntyre, the president of the Robert Burns World Federation. In his foreword he writes: “Susi has reminded us of words lost or forgotten in a time where use of our native tongue was actively discouraged. The Robert Burns World Federation supports the use of Scots Language across all age groups. Nip Nebs is the perfect platform to introduce our young children into our rich and descriptive language.”

Look out for a series of events and appearances in Dumfries and Galloway including a launch at Curly Tale Books 18 North Main Street, Wigtown on Sunday 17th December at 2.30pm. All Welcome.
